It was obvious that Tiger Woods was in excruciating pain as he scored a personal worst score of 78 at the Doral Blue Monster course in the finale of the World Golf Championship – Cadillac Championship this past Sunday but expects to put his aching back to even more test when he tees off to defend the title at the Arnold palmer Invitational.

Woods has managed to win eight times at the Bay Hill course and the Arnold Palmer Invitational is no doubt one of his favorite courses but even then, his decision to return to action so soon after suffering back spasms during the event at the revamped Trump National Doral has surprised many golf experts.

Woods had stated that the back spasm which had earlier forced him to withdraw from the final round of the Honda Classic the previous week, flared up once again after he tried an awkward stance to get the ball out of the bunker.

Woods was evidently relieved after the event, which was only his fourth international event this season ended, but he is intent on getting fit and ready for action in time for the Masters tournament in the second week of April as he targets the long awaited 15th major title of his career.

According to Mark Steinberg, the agent of the American legend, Tiger is getting treatment and there are chances he will be fully fit in time for the tee off at Bay Hill. Woods had mentioned on his website that he had undergone an MRI scan and other tests on his back and admitted that the issue first cropped up during The Barclays last August while sleeping on a very soft mattress.

But Woods is adamant about playing at Bay Hill and he is looking forward to being fully fit.
